SA8000 Guidance Document
Note: The Guidance Document for SA8000:2014 is currently being revised. It will be posted and available in Fall 2015.
This SA8000 Guidance Document is intended to provide some interpretation and examples of application of the SA8000 Standard's requirements for auditors and other users of the Standard. It is not intended to be comprehensive and does not include all matters of interpretation or implementation that arise when applying the SA8000 Standard to the workplace.
The Guidance Document was last revised and published in 2013. The revised document that is aligned with the changes made in the SA8000:2008 Standard is now available below, organized by each of the SA8000 Standard's nine elements. Users of SA8000:2008 are required to consult the 2008 Guidance Document as they implement the standard, and can also use the Drafter’s Notes and FAQs for further clarification on the changes made to the standard since.
